being single

midst of the day, i explore this street
alone, not lonely though
cheers of flawless ecstacy
noises defeaning the calmness around!

they walked past me, hand in hand
enjoying the music of their walk!
"cupids", i thought "are creating magic"
she returned his kiss with a smile.

should I be sad on my fate?
on my status of being single?

they say love is beautiful
it gifts a soul to share our thoughts.
aint i more lucky?
i have the whole world in front of me!

choices unlimited, options I could delve on,
emotional emancipation and the joy it gives
havnt i got enough reasons
to cherish my status of being single?

they say love is cool
status "committed" says it all!
aint I cool enough?
status "single" gives me options!

they show in quotes, in tv shows, on screen
"our life is incomplete without the holy union"
agreed, so what? do i curse my soul?
for the sin named being single!

they say love is a dream
"we float through the unknown cloud of bliss".
I am happy that I am single
I am awake, eyes wide open!

so how do you feel? souls contiguous
do you abhor your status for good?
or do you share my views, my thoughts
being single is no sin. relish it!

her face was vibrant
pleasure sparkling her eyes
the pink on her face
added her charm

her smile was coy
her eyes frisky
her breathe had a rhythm
as she eased into her dreams

cupids are busy this month
she is yet to meet her match.
so how should he be?
thoughts grew wings to her words!

she hopes he be lofty
not insolent though
not a hunk, but good at heart
her grin said it all!
"i might be possessive at times"
sporadic resurgence of enthusiasm.
"he should impress my mom
tough, but that's his test"

her eyes flickered
the moment was captured
the smile was gone
maybe she woke up from her dream

such a brief dream
yet not trifling!
anticipation in her eyes,
may her dream come true!

i am very much alive!!!

I had to write this post!! Its been more than a week that i have been regular over here. Blame it on my busy schedule at work. I havnt read many of your latest posts and I am really sorry for that. Now, I have the much awaited holidays. I would go back to work only on Sunday. So that gives me three more days at home :) Ill be visiting each one of you in these three days.. A msg to those people who have already forgotten me or is giving the idea a serious thought - let me remind you that your sins wouldnt allow you to throw me out of your life so easily :) and a msg to those who still love me - trust me, i love you too :)

ive been working on a story for the contest which Kirti announced. I am stuck somewhere towards the end. Hopefully I would finish it today. The problem is that my story might have more words than the allowed limit of 2500 and I am too lazy to edit!! I sent a mail to Kirti seekin permission to write more words, havnt recieved a reply till date :( guess i am not the only busy person :)

ah, forgot to add.. i watched two movies, back to back :) [i]Luck by chance [ii] slumdog millionaire. personally, for an entertainment,  i liked luck by chance more than slumdog millionaire, but yes, i liked the kids in the movie and the touch it gave to real life.
